DUBAI LAUNCHES 'CLICK & TRAVEL' MOBILE SERVICE FOR FASTER AIRPORT CHECKS

It will be the world’s first mobile service to complete entry and departure procedures at Dubai airport during peak times and emergencies.

Dubai airport passengers will soon be able to complete passport procedures without having to make their way to a fixed immigration counter. GDRFA Dubai has launched Click & Travel, a new mobile service that enables passport control officers to reach passengers and complete entry and departure procedures at Dubai airports during peak time and emergencies.

The new service supports Dubai’s ongoing efforts to enhance the travel experience at its airports. It enables passport control officers to reach passengers and complete entry and departure procedures quickly, flexibly and securely, without being tied to fixed service points.

It will help enhance passenger flow, operational efficiency and the passenger’s overall travel experience.

How does it work? It operates using mobile devices integrated with GDRFA Dubai’s systems and databases and uses biometric verification technologies, enabling identity verification and transaction completion in approximately 12 to 15 seconds.

The service can be deployed when needed, including during busy periods of passenger traffic and operational pressure.

At departures, the service is available to all passengers, including UAE citizens, residents and visitors. Upon arrival, the initial phase will only be available for UAE citizens and residents.

During the pilot phase, over 30,000 transactions were completed with the Click & Travel service from May to August 2026.

Speaking on the service launch, His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai stated, “With Click & Travel instead of passengers having to look for the service, the service comes to them, enabling passport control officers to complete their procedures at their location quickly, securely and flexibly.”

Al Marri added that the success of the pilot phase is encouraging and will allow them to ‘continue developing and expanding it, further strengthening Dubai’s leadership and position in shaping the future of travel.’

And this could just be the beginning. GDRFA Dubai plans to explore expanding “Click & Travel to cover a wider range of services beyond entry and departure procedures, potentially making more parts of the passenger journey faster and more convenient.
