BENGALURU-DEOGHAR FLIGHT: INDIGO TO OPERATE DIRECT SERVICES FROM JHARKHAND'S PILGRIMAGE TOWN TO IT HUB STARTING JUNE 1

Deoghar Airport is set to launch a direct flight service to Bengaluru, starting June 1, enhancing connectivity from the pilgrimage city to South India and beyond. The inaugural commercial flight is scheduled to land at 12:40 pm, coinciding with the voting day, allowing residents working in South India to return home to vote in the 2024 Lok Sabha Election.

The flight service by Indigo will cost Rs 6,500 for the Deoghar to Bengaluru route, marking the airport’s second service connecting the city with a metropolitan after Delhi. The Airbus with 186 seats will fly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The airport currently offers daily direct flights to Delhi and Kolkata and will soon introduce services to Mumbai. Other airlines are expected to commence operations post-July. The expansion of air services is anticipated to benefit the local economy and provide convenience to pilgrims visiting the 12th Jyotirlinga and Parasnath.
